Day 1: Arrival

Day 2: Yerevan City Tour - Echmiatsin - Zvartnots - Yerevan
  • Republic Square, Opera House, Abovyan Street
  • Victory Park with a splendid view on Yerevan
  • Cafesjian Open Air Museum with contemporary art 
  • St. Hripsime Church (618 AD) - a UNESCO World Heritage Site
  • Mother Cathedral Echmiadzin - first official church in Armenia
  • Ruins of Zvartnots Cathedral (7th century)
  • MEALS: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3: Yerevan - Khor Virap - Areni - Noravanq - Goris
  • Khor Virap Monastery - the place where Gregory the Illuminator, the spiritual leader from 4th century, was imprisoned
  • Areni wine tasting in wine factory
  • Noravanq Monastery - one of the jewels of Armenia from the 13-14th centuries
  • MEALS: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4: Goris - Tatev - Kndzoresk - Sisian
  • Tatev Monastery - the world’s longest ropeway will lead us to Tatev, the 10th century bishopric of the Syunik Region
  • Khndzoresk cave town, swinging bridge - extraordinary place with partly man-made cave dwellings that used to be inhabited until 1950’s 
  • Zorats Karer/Carahunge - prehistoric site that is believed to have been an astral observatory

Day 5: Sisian - Yeghegnadzor - Selim pass - Sevan - Dilijan
  • Selim Caravanseray - the best preserved caravanserai (14th century) in the region testifying the huge role of Armenia during the times of the Silk Route
  • Lake Sevan - one of the largest and highest fresh water lakes in the world (1900m)
  • Sevanavanq Monastery - beautiful monastery from the 9th century standing on a peninsula from where you can have a breathtaking view over Lake Sevan

  • OVERNIGHT: Hotel in Dilijan
 
Day 6: Dilijan - Alaverdi - Sanahin - Haghpat
  • Old Dilijan - short stroll in the old part of Dilijan 
  • Sanahin Monastery - the 10th century monastery stands on the edge of the Debed River valley
  • Haghpat Monastery - this UNESCO World Heritage Site gives you the opportunity to understang the monastic life of the 10th - 13th centuries

Day 7: Haghpat - Vanadzor - Spitak - Gyumri
  • Gyumri City Tour - the second largest city of Armenia with extraordinary architecture

Day 8: Gyumri - Talin - Yerevan
  • Talin Cathedral - ruins of what once used to be an extraordinary place of worship 
  • Church of Aruch - again in ruins, this 7th century church testifies the attachment of the Armenians to Christianity
  • Aruch Caravanseray - this 13th century partly ruined caravanserai gives you an idea of how merchants lodged during the times of the Silk Route

Day 9: Free day
  •  This day you are given the opportunity to visit museums in Yerevan and have stroll in the streets or enjoy your trip in the many open-air café’s

Day 10: Yerevan - Garni - Geghard - Yerevan
  • Arch of Charents with a bird eye view on Mt. Ararat
  • Garni temple - only pagan temple in Armenia from 1st century AD
  • Geghard Monastery - cave monastery from the 13th century hidden in the mountains
  • MEALS: Breakfast, Lunch
  • OVERNIGHT: Hotel in Yerevan
 
Day 11: Yerevan - Amberd - Ashtarak - Yerevan
  • Armenian Alphabet Monument made from volcanic stone tufa
  • Amberd Fortress - 7th century fortress located on the slopes of Mt. Aragats at a height of 2,300 meters 
  • Karmravor Church from the 7th century located in the small town of Ashtarak  
  • MEALS: Breakfast, Lunch
  • OVERNIGHT: Hotel in Yerevan
 
Day 12: Yerevan City Tour
  • Genocide Memorial - located on top of the hill it gives you the history of the genocide of the Armenians
  • Matenadaran - manuscript museum and research center where one can find more than 17.000 manuscripts from different centuries
  • Vernisage - open air souvenir market with the nicest hand-made souvenirs from Armenia
  • MEALS: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 13: Departure
